Why should you undergo a medical check-up?
Physical exercise is instrumental in keeping fit and healthy. However, an inappropiate exercise practice may lead us to discomforts, injuries and, sometimes, to serious illnesses. Therefore, before start practicing a sport or any other physical activity it is necessary to undergo a medical check-up that alows us to know if we are in good conditions to do such kind of exercise. It is important as well to know how often we should do it, what is the appropriate intensity, if we have to take some preventive measures into account and, finally, what are the limits we cannot exceed.
Who should undergo a medical check-up?
- Those people participating in physical activities promoted by San Javier Council.
- People who are going to start physical exercise practice or a sport and need a suitable orientation regarding their physical and health conditions.
- People who regularly exercise and require medical control discarding any disease which potentially could put them in danger while making an effort.
- Athletes needing a medical check-up to get a license to compete.
- High level athletes who demand medical monitoring to enhance their performance.
Both, physical exercise or practicing sports without medical supervision may involve some health risks. They should be prevented by means of a sports medical check-up or, at least, a questionnaire alowing to get an estimated health assessment. The questionnaire is aimed, on the one hand, to detect any health problem which may get worse when exercising and, on the other hand, to make some suggestions taking these results into account.
You can get a Free Estimated Previous Health Report for practising sports by filling out the questionnaire which can be downloaded from the “Documents” section and sending it by eMail to: firstname.lastname@example.org. The report wiil be sent to you by eMail as well.
