San Javier shows its support for the Trasjo Tajo-Segura in a claim for infrastructure that turns 40 years old

The Plaza de España de San Javier hosted today an act of support for the Tajo-Segura Transfer coinciding with its 40th anniversary to "claim what has been an equality and structuring model of Spain "indicated the Mayor José Miguel Luengo who highlighted the exemplary nature of the sector of local irrigators that has generated 173 companies and creates 3000 jobs in the municipality of San Javier.


The act, in which it was deployed an allusive banner on the facade of the Town Hall, had the participation of the Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing, Miguel Ángel del Amor; the general director of Water, Sebastián Delgado; the president of the Irrigation Community of Campo de Cartagena and síndicos, Manuel Martínez and the president of the Central Syndicate of Irrigators of the Tajo-Segura Aqueduct (Scrats), Lucas Jiménez, to whom the mayor delivered an institutional plaque in recognition of the work of the Union and its irrigators.


Carmen Sicilia, the group Caliche was in charge of reading a joint manifesto before a nourished presence of farmers of the municipality and neighbors who supported with their presence the Tajo-Segura Transfer in an act in the that "we must continue to reclaim this infrastructure, its maintenance and its conservation, as an element of solidarity and structure, generator of employment and as an example of what the Engineering can do for our future. "


The act ended with a deal free vegetable donated by several of the companies agrifood of the municipality.
