The sculpture of a huertana in embossed iron recalls the 50th anniversary of the group Mar Menor Choirs and Dances, of San Javier

The sculpture of an orchard in embossed and life-size iron, made by the artist Alicante Manu Moya, remember from yesterday in the avenue Neptuno, of San Javier, the 50 years that have passed since in 1967 the then local parish priest, Antonio López, a native of Patiño, Murcia put into operation the group of Mar Menor Choirs and Dances, of San Javier.



The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo in the company of the Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, the president of the group Mar Menor Choirs and Dances, Antonio Avilés, and of the author of the work, Manu Moya, discovered the sculpture yesterday afternoon in an act that counted on the presence of the local folkloric group complete, including several of the first dancers of the training, some of which are still active.



José Miguel Luengo remembered the importance that the group has had throughout its 50 years of existence in the social and cultural life of the municipality due to its high level of involvement and participation in any of the events that are celebrated throughout the year. Luengo highlighted the activity that maintains the group after half a century of life and highlighted the presence of the children's group "that guarantees at least another 50 years of existence ".
